Job Description:
CSC is seeking a number of intermediate-level Cyber Security Analysts to support our Global Security Solutions and Cyber Security organization in a newly established, challenging worldwide Beethoven Program!  We are looking for highly motivated and disciplined individuals who already have experience or are capable of rapidly developing the skills required for this vital specialty.
 
This position is headquartered out of Hanover, MD, but work location will be flexible and fully determined upon formal assignment!
 
This program offers the opportunity for selected individuals to receive tailored, cutting-edge technical training that can lead to highly sought after, industry-recognized skills and/or certifications.  Mentoring and development plans will be created for you, based on your starting skill set and the needs of the project to which you are assigned.  You will take technical direction initially from the Beethoven Mentoring Project Manager, then from the Beethoven Project Manager for each project you are assigned to following completion of the post-selection mentoring process.  You will work with senior level subject matter experts in evaluating your existing skill sets and abilities and identifying areas for growth.  The Beethoven Program Management Office, and your assigned mentor, will track your progress on your tailored development program.

This position's Essential Job Functions include:
 
  • Applies more complex computer investigation and analysis techniques in the interests of determining potential security problems and to provide data recovery services for users.
  • Discovers files on the subject system including existing normal files, deleted yet remaining files, hidden files, password-protected files, and encrypted files. Recovers discovered and deleted files to ensure that company information retained.
  • Documents overall analysis of the subject computer system, as well as a listing of possibly relevant files and discovered file data. Determines approaches for analysis in order to ensure integrity and protection of the system.
  • Preserves the subject computer to insure that it is protected against alteration, damage, viruses, and data loss or corruption.
  • Identifies evidence when computers systems and networks are used in the commission of crimes or in the abuse of company policies.
  • Creates custom investigative reports and presentations for courtroom use.
  • Provides support for management and more experienced personnel in preparing for legal disputes.
  • Researches more complex security and recovery problems in order to determine origins and recommend best practices for prevention of future problems. Makes recommendations for improved security and recovery procedures as appropriate.
Program Specific Requirements
 
  • You must have full-time availability from January 2012 through March 2013.
  • You must possess the ability to speak, write and listen fluently in English (without need for translation or interpretation) for telephone, electronic chat, and email correspondence as well as preparing and reviewing technical documents.
  • You must have the ability to work and communicate with persons at all levels of the organization, including the ability to understand and communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
  •  You must have the ability to work in a virtual environment, with project-related supervisory direction coming from a remote manager, and the ability to manage and deliver work according to tasks assigned, working independently.
  • You must be willing to learn and increase your skill level as needed in order to provide valuable technical input and complete project assignments. 

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and Information Systems Security Professional (ISSP) certifications preferred
  • Five or more years of experience in computer forensic analysis
  • Experience working with a wide range of computer hardware and software
  • Experience working with computer forensics software and hardware
  • Experience working with systems infrastructure including hardware configuration, operating system, and networks
  • Possess Department of Defense (DoD) security access of ADP I, ADP II, or ADP III
  • Pass background checks such as NAC, NACLC, and/or SSBI

  • Communication skills to communicate with customers
  • Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills
  • Ability to keep sensitive and confidential material private
  • Willingness to travel
