Energy Program Manager - Moca (Newton, Massachusetts)
Position: Energy Program Manager
MOCA Systems is a nationally recognized program and construction management firm that greatly improves project performance. We provide a unique approach to project controls (cost and schedule management) that helps owners more consistently achieve better within-budget and on-time project performance.
With MOCA experiencing steady growth, our firm has launched a new innovative energy cost modeling solution for use by owners of new and existing facilities. Our clients are primarily government owned and operated facilities that require decision support early in the design process to identify the most cost effective approaches to meet energy reduction and renewable energy adoption goals. The Energy Program Manager is a responsible, resourceful, and innovative team leader experienced with gathering energy data on facilities, accurately modeling energy consumption and costs, and proposing viable efficiency options.
Qualifications you will have if you are a great candidate:
Required:
Four-year college degree (B.S.) in Engineering, Energy or related field
15+ years of experience developing and running successful energy efficiency and demand management implementation programs, with a proven track record of successful business development expertise
A proven track record of leadership, having culminated in a position as a senior player within an Energy policy and strategy oriented consulting services business unit with a strong energy efficiency program implementation component
Strategic and business vision to develop plans to implement technical innovations with business metrics
Tactical project manager with technical aptitude and analytic skills to lead team
Operational and people skills to define action plans, motivate self and others, and achieve goals
Demonstrated experience managing projects of high complexity, including identifying, maintaining, and/or adjusting the scope and/or resources, and overseeing the formal planning, tracking, and reporting of project performance
Knowledge of facility energy analysis and modeling software tools using building energy databases and real-time utility monitoring equipment
Knowledge of lifecycle cost analysis techniques, renewable energy technology and lifecycle costs
Experience with existing facility energy audits and new facility design documents
Knowledge of utility regulations, energy commodities procurement and risk management
Knowledge of HVAC and energy equipment maintenance staff productivity measure to ensure effectiveness
Knowledge of federal (OSHA, DOT, EPA, DHS), state and local safety and environmental rules and regulations to ensure compliance by the company
Strong customer focus
Effective spokesperson and champion for the innovative energy solution
Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time
A Plus:
Masters Degree in Engineering, Energy or related field
PE certification

Lead an innovative technical solution in collaboration with a talented group of people
Coordinate with owners and project teams, and establish an environment where best practices are developed and continually improved
Work with clients to structure work and research technical solutions for complex issues at customer facilities
Identify and quantify energy savings measures and alternatives
Identify energy related enhancements and processes
Identify and respond to clients business needs
Facilitate the presentation of complex and/or technical information with prioritized recommendations
Present to a wide audience and guide discussions toward the attainment of mutually acceptable goals
Accurately analyze information, make strategic decisions/recommendations, and guide others with decision making by identifying the anticipated benefits, consequences, and impacts of alternatives
Collaborate with clients, peers, project personnel, and all levels of management to develop solutions and ensure stakeholder buy-in
Manage customer care issues such as billing inquiries, planning concerns, and performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned
