NOW HIRING: ARTS AND PHOTOGRAPHY PROFESSIONALS
Capturing images and events. Writing stories and profiles. Honing technical production skills. Going behind the scenes to educate military personnel and the public about activities and accomplishments that go on every day in the Navy. Creative professionals in the Navy Reserve have the chance to see the world from an exciting new perspective and the opportunity to gain experience that extends far beyond the moment.

Serving as a Photographers Mate, Journalist or Lithographer, you can contribute your talents in many impactful ways. You might film an aerial exhibition put on by the Blue Angels. Chronicle the exploits of Sailors returning from a humanitarian mission abroad. Create graphics for a high-profile presentation or create layouts for a nationally distributed Navy magazine. If you have interest or experience in photography, writing, illustration or design, the possibilities are endless.

As part of your responsibilities, you could also do any of the following:
Serve as one of the Navy's professional photographers or videographers
Operate state-of-the-art photography and video equipment for the Navy
Scan/edit digital, still and video images and use lab equipment for film/print production
Prepare illustrations, original art, technical drawings, graphics and audiovisual materials
Utilize personal computer/desktop publishing systems to design various communications
Set type, make plates for printing and operate printing presses
Whatever the specific role, you can take advantage of the opportunity to develop your artistic abilities. Be a U.S. citizen
Be at least 18 years of age and no older than 40 upon joining

Get a qualifying score on the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) exam
