JOB SUMMARY
Union Bank is seeking a Systems Analyst to work with the ecommerce systems team. This team is responsible for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of the enterprise customer facing, internet banking applications for Union Bank's commercial banking business unit. It will be part of a team that is responsible for new application development and/or improving existing applications to meet the changing needs of our business and customers.
DETAILS
Major responsibilities include:
- Under minimal supervision, responsible for leading the project team for preparing Statement of Work, project estimates, project plans, functional design requirements, data analysis and mapping, feasibility studies, alternative solutions analysis, program specifications, test plans, conversion plans and implementation plans.
- Functions as an internal consultant for the applications support team for design review and quality, to ensure the product meets both time to market, and budget expectations.
- This is the top level systems analyst and required to lead the project team in projects, assigned.
- Projects assigned will include projects that are complex in scope and cost.
- Prepares Statement of Work, project estimates, project plans, functional requirements, feasibility studies, alternative solutions analysis, and test plans, conversion plans and implementation plans.
- Assists in the installation and overall testing of bank developed or vendor supplied packages.
- Identifies areas in bank operations which may be improved or which may offer new opportunities to improve the business.
- Provides formal and informal user training and general user support.
- Acts as a consultant to user management in planning and implementing system and operational changes, and assists in the preparation of business plans.
- Considered highly versatile, and as such, may be called upon to fulfill a variety of functions, which may be deemed necessary by management.
- Performs testing and problem resolution on a 24 hour basis.
- Regularly provides guidance and training to less experienced staff.
- Regularly works under deadlines and may be subject to extreme workloads.
- Possesses a high level of analytical skills as recognized by industry standards, as well as extensive bank operations knowledge.
Required
- Minimum of 10 years experience doing systems analysis work with at least two years in a management or project lead position
- 8 years experience of analytical, design, and testing techniques
- 6 years experience preparing system designs, technical specifications, and time estimates for solutions to user requests
- Proficient in the use of project management methodology, including related software tools, and understands project life cycle process
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organization, planning, and interpersonal skills
- Superior understanding of the organizational structure and corporate culture and priorities
- Flexibility to work on multiple systems and different business areas at the same time.
- Ability to be on call 24 hours
Preferred
Experience with commercial banking customer facing web products a plus
