Staff Accountant Needed ASAP - The Mergis Group (Long Beach, California)

Stable Company in Gardena is looking for entry level 2-5 year Staff Accountant with the following experience. Must have Experience with large ERP system such as Oracle, JD Edwards or Mas 90/200 and a degree in Accounting.

Report to the Manager of Accounting & Finance, responsible for processing the day-to-day accounting transactions and working with the Manager of Accounting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounts payable duties:
• Process accounts payable transactions (coding invoices and expense reports), obtaining or verifying appropriate approvals, and inputting into the ERP accounting system.
• Matching purchase orders with invoices in ERP system.
• Oversee all accounts payable duties:
• Printing of checks, preparation of voucher packages, and filing of paid invoice vouchers.
• Generation of disbursement reports from ERP System.
• Generation of revenue share statements for content and distribution partners and initiation of check disbursements.
• Assisting the Manager of Accounting & Finance with various monthly close duties.
• Ad hoc projects (as needed). 

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3 years hands-on financial accounting experience.
• Must be detail-oriented and have exceptional organizational skills.
• Experience with ERP System financial accounting system strongly desired and/or familiarity with another enterprise-level system.  
• Thorough understanding of debits and credits as they relate to accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash, prepaid expenses and fixed assets.
• Ability to analyze issues and implement solutions. 
• Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written form with all levels of Management, employees, and customers.
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel required

Education

• Bachelors Degree in accounting or related major preferred.
