This is a unique opportunity for a person wanting to lead a dynamic global IT team that creates software solutions for the Tyco Electronics global product pricing community. We are particularly interested in individuals with a strong understanding of functional business and systems concepts related to pricing in the electronics industry. You must be a proven leader who can drive initiatives across different business units and geographic areas.
You will also be responsible for the development of the Global Price Management System (GPMS) which is the TE custom pricing component to SAP. GPMS is an integrated application providing support in the development and analysis of customer and product pricing. It provides the framework and capabilities required to support operational pricing processes, price modeling, decision-support tools, mass price changes, data administration, and other pricing related analysis and information.
Although directly responsible for GPMS, you will work closely with the SAP and eCommerce application teams. An understanding of
system interfaces and price delivery methods on those platforms will be required.
Position Responsibilities/Duties
1. IT department management including budgetary responsibility.
2. Provide thought leadership and program management for new and re-engineering projects.
3. Work with other IT teams to leverage shared-expertise and coordinate projects.
4. Establish partnerships with global businesses to ensure understanding of global business requirements and alignment of priorities.
5. Lead software package evaluations and 'buy versus build' decisions.
6. The successful candidate should excel in the following areas:
a. Proven ability to conceptualize solutions and architect scaleable systems based on an understanding of difficult business issues and processes.
b. Proven analytical abilities with knowledge of how to interpret complex structures, analyze data, and present information.
c. Specific experience with price-related analysis such as cost/volume/profitsimulations, proforma P&L's, break-even analysis, sales/margin variance, contract performance, and price waterfall analysis.
Position Qualifications/Competencies - Required
- 1. Five years work experience in a leadership role in a Pricing or IT organization.
- 2. Minimum of three years of developing and executing pricing initiatives.
- 3. Talented leader with a proven track record of developing an organization and achieving results through others.
- 4. Has a strong ability to influence others outside their direct area of control and is seen as a team player.
- 5. Creative and dedicated person with the desire to lead a dynamic global team.
- 6. Experience in managing multiple projects with diverse requirements and competing priorities.
- 7. Comfortable working with different areas in diagnosing complex problems, constantly learning, and applying new technologies.
- 8. Experience working in a global organization. Must be willing to occasionally travel globally and alter daily work schedule to meet with global community.
- 9. Strong oral/written communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- 10. Excellent MS-Office skills.
Required Education Level:
Undergraduate or advanced degree in Business, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, OR other equivalent work experiences.
