We are searching for a Government Accounting Manager to direct the contracts accounting affairs of the organization and prepare analyses of forecasting and planning, cost accounting, cost and pricing and government compliance using CAS and FAR and standards; select, develop and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function, including disciplinary actions.

Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires USA Citizenship.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide management with analytical assistance, advice and service in the preparation of all contract accounting aspects of the business planning which include, but is not limited to forecasting and planning, cost accounting, cost and pricing and government compliance using CAS and FAR generally accepted accounting principles and standards.

Issue instructions to department managers for the preparations of sales forecast, labor forecast, all overhead forecasts.

Establish requirements for reporting managerial accounting information necessary to control and monitor costs.

Interpret financial planning, forecasting and measurement requirements of the company programs.

Direct and coordinate the performance measurement of the organization and each of its operating areas against previously established plans, forecasts and budgets; report variances and their causes, making recommendations for their improvement where appropriate.

Plan and direct the implementation of system oriented reporting formats directly related to contract objectives, financial control and account reporting in order to satisfy customer audits and government regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ten (10) years of related financial and cost accounting experience in a fast pace manufacturing environment, with government contract exposure and a minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience; strong analytical skills with excellent attention to details;

Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance or Accounting (BA), required; Master in Business Administration (MBA), a plus.

Strong Time Management & Organizational skills: ability to plan effectively using different tools; flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments

Leadership skills: ability to lead people, coach and mentor staff; ability to lead with integrity, honesty and trust; ability to inspire every employee to reach his or her full potential and achieve excellence
Technical skills: well-developed cost and financial modeling, analytical and problem solving skills; working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Cost Accounting and Government requirements;

Math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio and percent; ability to create and use sophisticated financial modeling


Computer skills: Expert knowledge Power Point, Excel, Word, Project and Outlook software programs; ability to use Enterprise Resource Programs such as SAP, a plus
