Electrical Engineer - ARA (Fairfax, Virginia)

Applied Research Associates (ARA), Inc is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s combating WMD mission. Primary responsibilities include modeling and performing analyses on electrical power systems in coupled mechanical, thermal, electrical, and fluid-mechanical systems.  Candidate must have working knowledge and experience with electrical power engineering or cross-domain physics planning and modeling.  Familiarity with modeling and simulation packages such as SimuLink is required.

·     BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Physics or related discipline

·     Years Experience: BS with five years of related experience; MS with minimum of one year of experience preferred.

·     Experience with electrical power engineering or multi-domain physics modeling

·     Proficiency in Simulink/Simscape, or similar software

·     Experience with control systems and cross-domain feedback loops also desired

·     Active Secret clearance.

·     U.S. Citizenship and background investigations are required.

·     Strong oral and written communication skills.
