Link Computer Corporation has an immediate opening for a client who is experiencing growth and is looking to bring on a Programmer-Analyst. The client is open to contract, contract to hire and full time consideration. The client is located about 40 minutes north east of New Kensington, Pa.

Computer Programmer-Analyst

Position Summary:

The Computer Programmer-Analyst is primarily responsible for developing applications and reports in order to maximize the efficiency of the companys resources by designing, modifying or expanding systems that improve production or workflow. Responsibilities include: Perform business analysis, Evaluate data and solutions, Design, develop, document, test, and implement workflow and reporting systems, Manage production, Support users, Evaluate and track success of project development and communicate continually with senior management. Additional responsibilities include: report writing and data base management, routine system maintenance, system updates, website administration and security monitoring.

Knowledge

Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Products (i.e. Windows, Office)

Excellent working knowledge of network concepts

Ability to debug problems caused by hardware, operating systems software, application programs or network failures.

Ability to learn new technologies very quickly and resolve any problems involved in integrating new technologies.

Excellent working knowledge of one or more programming languages.

Excellent working knowledge of relational databases.

Excellent working knowledge of .NET Programming.

Superior logical thinking and problem solving skills.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Four year Degree in Computer Science or 3+ years SQL Server and programming experience

Strong SQL Knowledge and Experience

Extensive Experience writing Stored Procedures in SQL

Strong Programming Skills

One or more years demonstrated training or experience in .NET Programming

Creative and analytical development skills

The ability to develop new related skills with minimal formal training.

Strong Knowledge of Crystal Reports.

Preferred Position Qualifications:

Experience with Lean Process Projects

Team Lead experience with project management

Duties and Responsibilities:

Overview

Efficient project management and planning.

Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Design, develop, document, test and implement applications.

Coordinate all communication regarding projects.

Measure success of applications.

Business Analysis

Conduct systems analysis, development and routine computer program maintenance.

Perform appropriate evaluation of business procedures and problems.

Prepare analysis which presents cost versus benefit.

Prepare specifications for programming that include detailed descriptions.

Prepare technical documentation and instructions as necessary.

Responsible to understand the system in order to be able to advise the IT Director on Database performance issues and assist in the resolution of those issues.

Application Development

Develop workflow and dashboard reporting applications to produce operational efficiencies.

Create and document conceptual and detailed design of the needed business logic.

Write code based on a conceptual description of the business logic.

Develop, document, test, and implement computer-related information systems.

The ability to design, code, test, document, implement and maintain chosen alternatives. (Software Development life cycle).

Report Writing and Database Management

Write appropriate views / stored procedures to extract data for reporting.

Create clean and efficient reports for the staff.

Create links / data transfers between our different database systems.

Develop and maintain infrastructure for routine reporting, general reporting and dashboard reporting to maintain user efficiency.

Communication

Make purchasing recommendations for hardware and software to the IT Director.

Keep the IT Director informed of system and network needs or issues.

Keep appropriate senior management informed of project status, efficiency, production and timelines.

Document production activities and route as directed.
