SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Manages delivery of new online products and services and assists with the development of the companys website product strategy. Manages the interactive product development cycle for all new NCL.com features and functions. This includes capturing business requirements, product design, formulating an execution plan, and ensuring timely final delivery that supports companys strategic internet B2B and B2C channel goals. Leads cross-divisional project teams and external business partners in order to execute with a clear and well-defined focus the implementation of customer-driven functionality and content.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Bachelors Degree in marketing, business, e-commerce, computer science or related field of study or equivalent experience is required.
  • 7-10 years experience in an e-commerce environment. Online, travel or cruise industry experience preferred. 2-3 years experience managing project/product management teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of leading Internet technologies, development applications, and supportive protocols, including: HTML, XML, FLASH, SSL, Web Services, AJAX, RSS.
  • Superior Knowledge of Project Management Tools and Software including MS Visio and MS Project.
  • Deep understanding of web design principles and usability practices. Strong knowledge of database principles and data warehouse mining. Fundamental grasp of web analytics.
  • Excellent financial analysis capability and budget-management skills.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with internal and external clients.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects through completion. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills in order to prioritize workload according to business demands. Ability to collaborate well on cross-functional teams and work effectively within a team based environment.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Defines and regulates processes and guidelines that preserve scope, quality and cost-effectiveness of ncl.coms product delivery through both B2B and B2C channels. Assesses company competitive position. Manages the process of gathering, documenting and analyzing key needs and requirements from business stakeholders. Designs product by defining how it will look, feel and function. Validates product plans against customer research to create comprehensive feature execution plans that establishes delivery of products with bottom-line value streams and proven usability design. Works with the Director and VP of e-Commerce & CRM to review/update product development plan and time lines. Communicates rollout schedules as necessary to affected business units. Maintains appropriate project documentation to ensure accuracy and integrity for development process.
  • Coordinates project communication with business and technology project teams and ensures a high degree of product delivery integrity for all dependant stakeholders. Works with technical development team to provide deep clarity on product requirements.
  • Reviews and prioritizes strategic development plan with management team at project outset. Frequently advises and communicates to management and development teams of project progress. Proactively identifies critical success factors ahead of project schedules. Accurately tracks project costs.
  • Works with technical quality assurance professionals to ensure testing is completed and product is working as designed.
  • Identifies key opportunities to leverage new and existing technologies in support of corporate initiatives and works with Director and VP to define/refine priorities.
  • Employs customer research and usability studies to ascertain development priorities. Periodically reviews internal tracking data to analyze ncl.com-customer behavior patterns and preferences. Incorporates feedback from customer touch-points including e-mail, blogs, and focus groups specific to B2C & B2B product objectives.
  • Analyzes third party research to spot emerging B2C & B2B opportunities and trends.
  • Maintains effective responsibility for the employment, performance evaluation, training, motivation and counseling of assigned team members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
