We are currently seeking an Associate Director in our Corporate Strategy & Development Group (CSD).  Corporate Strategy and Development is an in-house strategy group dedicated to keeping senior leadership informed and armed with detailed analyses on the critical questions facing the company.  It serves as one of the primary inlets for premier talent at CEB and provides opportunities to work on impactful projects as a firmwide level. CSD seeks to hire high-potential, high-performing individuals with a drive and conviction to contribute to CEB’s planning and growth.
 
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Supporting the ongoing development and execution of overall strategy and portfolio priorities
  • Evaluate the merits, risks and other aspects of potential major portfolio moves including but not limited to acquisitions, licenses, divestitures, game-changing organic investments
  • Organize the business units’ portfolios of initiatives to a firm-level portfolio that provides a holistic assessment of investment, market attractiveness, risk, business performance and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Support and ensure progress on firmwide initiatives, such as new platform development, new capability acquisitions, new approaches to market and other potentially rewarding endeavors
  • Assist with the synthesis and interpretation of market and competitive intelligence outputs
  • Drive resolution of critical strategic and operating issues that are firm-wide in nature and/or critical to one of our businesses; this will involve: 
    1.       Preparing management reports and presentations to facilitate decision making
    2.       Managing multiple projects and clients with a focus on providing actionable intelligence for business decision makers.
  • Work on cross-functional project teams to evaluate and provide insight into existing and new markets, products, services, structures, and technologies.
  • Provide input, guidance and direction to the budgetary, strategic and operational planning processes.
  • Work directly and effectively with other business units’ leaders to ensure enterprise wide business integration, and coordination
  • Responsible for delivering findings to CEB Leadership Team (“CLT”) and other senior audiences
A successful candidate will possess:
  • 3-5 years experience strategy / management consulting
  • Graduate degree(s) in business and / or economics preferred
  • Superior project and process management skills
  • Original / creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Highly polished client-facing communication and interpersonal skills
  • Superior oral and written communication skills, including visual depiction of insights and ideas
  • Outstanding ability to quickly and continually synthesize, package, prepare, develop and communicate concise, logical, fact-based storylines, content and supporting analysis. Fast turnaround is a critical capability.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with analytical tools such as business valuation models, product market analytics, and decision support analytics, accounting and finance principles a must
  • Other characteristics include the following: self-starter who takes initiative, interpersonal capabilities that lend themselves to working collaboratively toward productive ends, ideally some demonstrated and meaningful project management and, or product development skills, understanding of finance and valuation analytics, motivator for others, ability to interface with senior executives (including ability to define and structure problems), etc.
