We are currently seeking a Senior Director in our Corporate Strategy & Development Group (CSD).  Corporate Strategy and Development answers the critical questions facing the company and provides opportunities to lead high impact firmwide projects.  It serves as one of the primary hiring for premier talent whose externally developed skills combine with accelerated learning of the CEB business model to create strong career paths into the business.  CSD seeks to hire high-potential, high-performing individuals with a drive and conviction to contribute to CEB’s planning and growth.
 
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Lead a small but talented team to provide analytical sound answers to the toughest questions the company faces
  • Work closely with C-level executives to define and implement solutions to critical issues
  • Lead firm-wide expansion initiatives, such as new platform development, new capability acquisitions, new approaches to market and other potentially rewarding endeavors
  • Evaluate the merits, risks and other aspects of potential major portfolio moves including but not limited to acquisitions, licenses, divestitures, game-changing organic investments
  • Aggregate the business units’ portfolios of initiatives to a firm-level portfolio that provides a holistic assessment of investment, market attractiveness, risk, business performance and alignment with strategic objectives. Lead and manage the production and interpretation for corporate executive leadership review of firm-level portfolio.
  • Work on cross-functional project teams to evaluate and provide insight into existing and new markets, products, services, structures, and technologies.
  • Provide input, guidance and direction to the budgetary, strategic and operational planning processes.
  • Work directly and effectively with other business units’ leaders to ensure enterprise wide business integration, and coordination
  • Responsible for delivering findings to CEB Leadership Team (“CLT”), Board and other senior audiences
A successful candidate will possess:


  • Likely 5-10 years experience strategy / management consulting
  • Graduate degree(s) in business and / or economics preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership / staff management capabilities
  • Superior project and process management skills
  • Original / creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Outstanding communications and presentation skills, including comfort with very senior and/or large audiences
  • Highly polished client-facing communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding ability to quickly and continually synthesize, package, prepare, develop and communicate concise, logical, fact-based storylines, content and supporting analysis. Fast turnaround is a critical capability.
  • Ability to quickly bring senior leaders to productive, value-enhancing conclusions
  • Experience operating in a complex, matrix management environment.
