Position Description:Travelocity is the most popular travel service on the web. We are looking for a Senior Software Developer responsible for supporting and troubleshooting/enhancing a high-transaction volume web application. The ideal candidate will have significant experience designing and supporting web applications using Java, Struts/JSP, HTML, CSS, Javascript, and XML. Experience with travel industry technology and knowledge of industry terminology, such as GDS, consolidators, merchant inventory, and booking reservations is highly desirable.

Accountabilities/Duties

• Web application support and troubleshooting complex issues.
• Code to business/technical specifications using Java, Javascript, HTML
• Create advanced SQL and data processing scripts. 
• Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision at times and work in a managed team environment other times. 
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities.

EDUCATION: Bachelor degree or equivalent
 
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years of related experience; excellent communication skills, written and verbal; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
 
Required Skills and Experience:

• At least 5 years experience developing with Java/J2EE and web environment.
• At least 2 years experience with HTTP, XML, and HTML
• Strong knowledge in relational database design concepts
• Experience working with external clients and cross-functional, matrixed organizations
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Ability to handle multiple issues simultaneously.
• Nice to have is Perl, Mod_Perl in a Unix environment.
