We are currently looking to hire a Process Design Engineering Manager for our Sacramento office.
Education
B.S. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering is preferred but consideration will be given to other engineering degrees based on actual project experience.
Experience
Minimum 15 20 years of industrial project engineering and project management experience in a design environment involving automated processing systems as well as related facility and infrastructure improvements, preferably in the food or beverage industry.
Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for establishing and maintaining process mechanical design and CAD drafting standards, leading and conducting internal design reviews, on-boarding and training/mentoring new hires or junior engineers as well as providing support as needed in the preparation of proposals. This position will drive a disciplined and methodical approach to document management throughout a project. This position is also expected to provide process design and process project management services on an as-needed basis.
Requirements
This position requires strong process engineering and project management skills with a working knowledge of process unit operations, process flow diagrams, piping & instrument diagrams, equipment arrangements, piping system design, material handling, equipment & installation specifications, functional specifications, as well as process instrumentation & control principles. A practical understanding of sanitary plant design and construction methods is preferred.
This position requires strong analytical skills, a sound understanding of project management fundamentals as well as strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, & AutoCAD). This position also requires a solid understanding of process design development documentation including drawings, specifications, contractor bid packages, instrument/control valve lists, line lists, mass balances, etc.
This position will lead a diverse process engineering team across several offices and therefore requires an individual who is task/results oriented with strong leadership skills and a commitment to deliver against project business, technical, schedule and budget goals.
Travel
10 - 20% travel will be required to attend Client meetings and other meetings. The majority of this travel will be regional.
