This history of exceeding customer expectations has lead to significant Company growth and numerous employment opportunities. One such opportunity is at our Newport News, VA office. We seek an Assistant Facility Security Officer (FSO) to conduct initial security briefings, debriefings, and indoctrinations, prepare and transmit visit requests and oversee visitor control. 

 

The Assistant FSO will provide security support responding to requirements from customers and Spectrum Technical staff. Develop an active Security Awareness and Education Program, maintain accountability of classified materials, and participate in facility inspections and audits. The Assistant FSO will maintain certification and accreditation of the facilities and enforce government and company security policies, as well as provide guidance with regard to these program security regulations.

 

Primary Job Responsibilities include:


  • Serve as personnel security POC for processing requests for security clearances.
  • Processing visit requests. 
  • Developing security training material and providing training for all personnel.   
  • Maintaining corporate security files. 
  • Shipping, receiving, and accountability of classified materials. 
  • Assisting with government inspections as required.
  • Responding to alarms when necessary.
  • Serve as back-up to the FSO.

Essential Skills and Experience:

 

         3-5 years job related experience.

         Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent of education and experience.

         Working knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Manual (NISPOM).

         Proficiency in JPAS and e-QIP, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

         Ability to self-motivate and work autonomously.

         Strong oral and written communication skills.

         Excellent time management skills.

         Ability to hold and maintain specific DoD security clearances

         FSO certification preferred.

         NISPOM Chapter 8 course desirable.

         COMSEC training desired

         Top Secret security clearance desired. If the candidate has a Secret security clearance, then the candidate must have the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance. 

         This position requires U.S. Citizenship.
