Description
Essential Job Functions
- Manages more complex or larger scope activities of business development team; schedules projects and monitors progress of business development staff to ensure that all activities are conducted in a timely manner. Manages team's sales against targets and budgets.
- Drives the development and qualification of outsourcing, product and service offering opportunities; implements and oversees arrangements when significant potential for business opportunities are determined to ensure that all opportunities are financially beneficial to the company.
- Determines appropriate solutions for clients; determines scope of services to be provided, including management information systems, claims, customer services, data warehousing, and facilities management, to ensure that client needs are adequately satisfied. Provides client direction in terms of operational perspectives, as needed.
- Establishes, directs and manages effective business development programs to maximize development growth; manages and develops a network of client contacts to maximize business opportunities. Maintains team communication with potential, new and current customers to ensure client retention.
- Develops lead goals for products and programs, and ensures they are met.
- Develops clear proposal theme, sales and proposal strategy, statement of work, performance standards, and pricing, identifies company resources and their availability to ensure feasibility.
- Develops service proposals, including sales strategy and win themes; completes and negotiates statements of work, service level standards and contracts; assists in the development of accurate pricing models; assists in proposal and pricing document preparation; and serves as a resource for proposal questions, to ensure that all business development activities are conducted in an efficient and timely manner.
- Conducts market research including competitive analyses, opportunities, and sales strategies to be used in outsourcing development activities to ensure that company financial and business interests are safeguarded.
- Selects and hires employees. Trains and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product. Addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions. Motivates and rewards employees including providing salary increases, bonuses and promotions within allocated budgets and company guidelines.
- Prepares, recommends and oversees development of operating and personnel budgets. Monitors spending for adherence to budget plans, develops and recommends variances. Performs and/or oversees budget analysis.

Qualification
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, business administration, or related field preferred
- Twelve or more years of business development and sales experience
- Nine or more years of supervisory or management experience included
- Experience working with the business industry, various areas of business operations and company products and services
- Experience with contract interpretation, negotiations and project management
- Experience working with company products and services and ability to articulate to client
- Experience working with financial management principles and other generally accepted accounting principles
