Director - Data Center and Storage Solutions Practice
Position Summary and Primary Objectives
What will tomorrow's data center look like? We see continued demand for effective consolidation, compliance and continuity. We also see accelerated adoption of virtualization and Green IT requiring complex networking expertise to deliver of the promises of positive user experience and IT profitability . We see new partnerships emerging-and Dimension Data's expertise making technologies from Cisco, EMC, VMware, Microsoft, Sun and HP work in concert bringing our clients unique value. Do you share this view? Are you ready to lead the next generation of Dimension Data America's Data Center Solutions practice toward this highly strategic space?
As the GM of the DCS Line of Business, you'll team with colleagues across theaters to frame a GTM strategy that serves the needs of enterprise clients based in the US, both domestically and abroad. Through a team of 12 specialists, you'll develop market relevant solution offerings, generate services demand, engage partners, achieve sales targets, and successfully deliver professional and managed services to enterprise clients. This role will appeal to an experienced, highly effective business leader, keen to refine and grow a sophisticated boutique practice. Among your direct reports are industry thought leaders, solution sales professionals and skilled engineers. You'll unite behind our high performance culture.
Specific duties are as follows:
Lead a specialized line of business that includes the direct management of sales and service delivery resources across the US. Current revenue forecast > $40M. Manage and improve a scalable business model that executes on a geographic basis. Grow the business at 20% YoY through emerging technologies focus, and consistent delivery of core solutions.
Develop market relevant solutions for technology, professional and managed service offerings in new and existing clients.
Lead the annual business planning process for Dimension Data Americas DCS solutions, coordinating with DD global and DD Americas leadership peers as required.
Lead the continued specialization, diversification and dual path sales engagement (demand generated/fulfilled) of the LOB.
Ensure the successful operational delivery of all services engagements, consistent with our commitment to operational excellence; client satisfaction and referenceability is paramount.
Attract, hire, and develop key leaders to support the annual growth (20%+) of a $40 million business.

Education/Qualification Required
- Minimum of a 4 year degree - Management or IT preferred. Advance degree highly desirable.
- Demonstrated industry leader - ie, published, frequent speaker at industry events, etc.
- Demonstrated business and industry experience in the applicable technology domains.
- 15+ years of progressive data center, virtualization and storage technologies related experience in a sales and general management capacity for premier services & solution organizations. ie, Large HP, Sun, IBM, EMC, EDS, outsourcers, major service providers, etc.
- Experience in management of sales and delivery.
Skills and Core Competencies
- Must be a high caliber leader of people, capable of collaboration at all levels within the company and with partners.
- Must be very comfortable in front of clients, closing key opportunities, as well as handling complex service delivery issues.
- Must possess general management leadership capabilities, P&L management responsibilities
- Must understand key industry drivers and buying criteria for the portfolio of data center products and services.
- Must have demonstrated an ability to manage a large scale operation, comprised of a large volume of transactions requiring high levels of internal efficiency and external effectiveness.
- Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience, approximately 2/3 base, 1/3 bonus variable tied to DDNA PBIT and business unit metrics/KPIs.

- Travel Percentage: 15%
