Role Summary/Purpose
The Transformer Field Technician will be responsible for working in the field as part of a team on an oil-processing rig installing, repairing, troubleshooting and processing the fluid in transformers and LTCs.

Essential Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance of the Rig when Rig Crew Leader is not present (DOT, EHS, Calibration, tooling, equipment, maintenance, housekeeping, organization, cleanliness, etc.) - Actively participate in EHS - Assist in the leadership of onsite safety, compliance, hazard recognition and accident prevention on job site - Develop a relationship with customers and explore future opportunities - Ensure self-compliance regarding training, meetings, administrative, DOT, EHS, etc. - Responsible for personnel's safety, work assignments, and work scope while on job site - Follow work orders from (in chain of command); Managers, Production Supervisor, Rig Crew Leader, or Transformer Tech - When Rig Crew Leader is not present, pro-actively communicate to Production Supervisors on progress of job and status of crew members - Mentoring 3rd Tech to enable safe and productive operation - At end of a job, obtain customer sign-off prior to departing from site, and document confirmation number(s) for all 3rd party equipment to be removed from site in a timely manner - Work as a team with Crew Leader to direct crew activities, assignments on job site and in GE shop - Work as a team with Crew Leader to ensure job successful execution of the job (includes resources, timing, personnel, paperwork, compliance, efficiency, etc) - When Rig Crew Leader is not present, lead daily toolbox talks on site and ensure crew safety as well as becoming the main point of customer contact while crew is on site; Communicate with customer on safety, waste, work progress, change order possibility, etc. - Pro-actively improve skills and knowledge - Operation of man lifts and variable reach forklifts

Qualifications/Requirements
- At least one year of experience in the field of Fluid processing equipment, process- Class A CDLELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT:- Ability and willingness to lift up to 50lbs., work from heights, climb ladders, push/pull wrenches, and work in confined space- Proficient with computer (Microsoft outlook, excel, word, Internet Explorer, and VPN connectivity)

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Desired Characteristics
- Thorough knowledge and demonstration of EHS compliance and SOP's- Knowledge of and ability to perform Transformer & LTC repairs, installation, etc.- Strong interpersonal skills, both internal to GE and external (customers)- Knowledge of Rigging to include hand signals, safety, etc. (level 2 training needed)- Ability to operate all GE rigs- Associate's Degree (A.A.) in Electrical Maintenance or other field from a two-year college or technical school - At least five years of experience in providing maintenance / repair services on electromechanical products or other combination of education and experienceGE Energy's Industrial Services team is a global organization.
