Childrens Medical Center Dallas, a Magnet designated facility, is the primary pediatric teaching facility for the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. Childrens is the only academic hospital in North Texas dedicated exclusively to the comprehensive care of neonates and children from birth to age 18. 

 

Childrens is seeking a Physician Information Analyst for the Physician Relations Department.

 

Description:

 

This position is responsible for collecting and maintaining provider information, information system support as well as involvement in making modifications to the existing system, entry and analysis of data, coordination of special projects, establishing research databases, and performing simple statistical analysis. Duties performed are intended to support the objectives of the Physician Relations Department.
 
Collects and maintains provider demographic information and the data entry of new and existing provider information into multiple systems used hospital-wide. Checks provider credentials in accordance with department processes prior to data entry into hospital systems. Systems include, but are not limited to the following:


Cerner/TecSys, Soft Med (provider id), Maximizer, ECHO, 3M, SMS, Provider Portal
Develops and produces routine and ad hoc reports and performs analysis of report data which support the operational goals of the department. Uses reporting results from multiple data sources to conduct analysis of provider activity in the market. Analysis includes but is not limited to review of provider referrals, admits, demographics, practice details and hospital relationships. 

Assists in the maintenance of the contact management application used by department. Serves as a Help Desk operations liaison. Evaluates new functions and features of application with IS contact. Maintains all user access to department application.
 
Research system change requests, formulate system scope and objectives, and prepare program specifications to develop or modify system in support of the business process. Analyze user's problems; assist in determining and recommending optimum approach to resolving problems based on system capabilities and user needs.
 
Work closely with the department on projects, and assist in the design and development of required interfaces.
 
Provides verbal or written response to internal customer notifications or inquiries as it relates to provider information, and participates in inter-departmental meetings as needed to represent department.
 
Assists in the development of training documentation and trains other members of Physician Relations to fully utilize computer software.
 
Communicate issues related to employee performance, department processes and procedures, and customer satisfaction to manager. 

 

Requirements:

 

-          Bachelor's degree

-           Minimum 3 years experience as an information analyst

-          Strong knowledge and ability with software applications - including Epic, Cerner and Crystal Report Writer.

-          The ability to hear and communicate with others in a clear, understandable and professional manner, on the phone, via email and in person.  The ability to communicate effectively with peers, technical and clinical staff, and other customers in a manner that positively represents the department and hospital organization.

-           Effective organizational skills and attention to detail; effective follow-through and commitment to excellence.

-          Ability to work on multiple projects, meet high demand deadlines, and to establish priorities.

-           Strong problem-solving skills.
