JOB SUMMARYUnder general supervision, assist with quality control research, perform audits for unauthorized connections by non-customers, basic only customers, HSD only customers, telephony only customers and complete safety field observation forms.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITIONContribute to the Company vision of being the industry leader in customer service through quality, commitment, courtesy and teamworkConduct field audits of taps; identify and disconnect any unauthorized connectionsIdentify opportunities to sell and convert disconnected unauthorized connections to paying customersWork with the Door to Door sales team to transfer over the disconnected unauthorized accounts for further workMaintain system security by auditing pedestal locks; reshape and starlock pedestalsAudit drops; provide all drop locations with permanent tags, service tags, grease threads, rubber grommets, and terminate all unused ports. Maintain accurate records and reporting requirementsAssist with quality control checks on technicians work as needed and requested by supervisorPerform repairs to pedestals and lock boxes or other equipment damage from illegal connectsComplete safety field observation forms when encountering associates and contractors in the fieldPerform other duties as requested by supervisorPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSA. Skills/Abilities and KnowledgeAbility to safely use weight-bearing equipment (such as gaffs, safety harness and ladders) within the maximum weight limitations of that equipmentKnowledge and ability to use the following office equipment: computer telephone, copier, fax, calculator, stapler, and e-mailKnoweldge and ability to use computer software products such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, convertering digital photosKnowledge of headend, fiber, FCC log, and warehouse complianceAbility to accurately measure distances using tapes or other measuring devicesAbility to adhere to Local, Federal regulations and Company policiesAbility to carry, climb and operate extension ladder (approx. 28 ft high and90 pounds)Ability to climb poles using gaffs, hooks and climbing belt as neededAbility to differentiate between different sizes and colors of wiresAbility to drive Company vehicle in a safe and responsible mannerAbility to operate appropriate computer or test equipment associated with positionAbility to perform job from high places (i.e. poles and roofs)Ability to prioritize and organize effectivelyAbility to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers,in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professionalmannerAbility to use the following hand tools: electric drills, hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers in the installationof cable to the residence and TV set convertersAbility to walk over all types of terrain in all kinds of weather while carrying tools and equipment, includinggaffs, ladders, and fully loaded tool beltsAbility to work at height exceeding 20 feetAbility to work independentlyAbility to work while standing 50 - 70% of the timeAbility to work with small components and wires to make cable connectionsKnowledge of basic mathematics and electronicsVision ability: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focusAbility to understand locations of street names today and the street names prior to recent 911 address changes helpfulB.
