We are seeking candidates for Senior Mechanical Engineer for the development of mid to high volume electro-mechanical actuators with the commercial HVAC market in Environmental Combustion & Control (ECC) business. As Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will successfully drive the development of design concepts into realistic products that meet performance, quality, budget and timeline requirements through cooperation and leadership of a worldwide new product development team.
 
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
 
• Generate comprehensive product requirement specifications by participating in discussions with customers and marketing.
• Design, prototype, test and evaluate concepts based on the compromise between performance and cost making justified decisions backed by sound engineering principles.
• Compress product development cycle through strategic utilization of computer modeling, analysis and prototyping.
• Optimize designs for manufacturability by collaborating with component suppliers, process engineers and production facilities.
• Prepare and coordinate preparation of engineering documentation such as drawings, ECO's, BOM's, analysis reports and specifications.
• Identify, select and qualify component suppliers through interaction with purchasing and supplier quality.
• Work with and gain acceptance from product approval bodies (UL, CE, etc).
• Proactively provide mentoring to remote and junior engineers working in the development team.


 
Candidate requirements:
 
• Demonstrate strategic problem solving skills utilizing "big picture" thinking as well as solving day to day challenges quickly and effectively.
• Be self-motivated, detail, action, and process oriented driving projects to completion.
• Have the ability to effectively motivate and lead a cross functional, international development team.
• Effectively communicate with engineers, supply chain, operations, and managers.
• Effectively communicate with marketing, customers and OEM's.
• Understand the value and need for compliance to a structured product development process by accurately planning and executing.
 
 
 
Basic qualifications:
 
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.  
- Minimum of 3 years in design and development of electro-mechanical products.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Pro-E solid modeling.


Additional qualifications:
 
- 5 or more years of design and development of high volume, low cost, electro-mechanical products, preferred.
- Master's Degree, preferred.
- Proficient use of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance analysis.
- Experience in the design and analysis of injection molded plastic, powdered metal, aluminum die cast & stamped metal components.
- Experience packaging electronic and mechanical components.
- Experience in the design and analysis of plastic and powdered metal gearing.
- Proven ability to interact and communicate daily with global remote design sites.
-  Knowledge and proficiency in Six Sigma skills for design and process improvement is desirable
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
