As a member of the Global IT Operations Leadership team, the Director is responsible for working within the McAfee IT Services-oriented structure to define, design, implement and maintain all IT services related to communications.  This would include, (at a minimum), Voice, Video, Conferencing, Instant Messaging, and Presence.  Works cooperatively with other IT staff, customers, and management to provide these services to all McAfee stakeholders, around the clock.  Create appropriate metrics (Key Success Factors, etc.).  Handle and resolve Incidents and Major Incidents to ensure rapid 'return to service'.  Designs and delivers programs, processes and procedures resulting in continuous improvement of communications systems availability (CIP).  Duties and responsibilities are focused on Communications Services and infrastructure strategy, design, deployment, monitoring and maintenance of systems.

  • In support of IT strategy and objectives, create long-range plans and programs related to improving, expanding and/or retirement of IT Communications Services, including, but not limited to:
    • WAN services (MPLS; AVPN, VPN, Point-to-Point, Datacenter and collocation backbone, DR circuits, etc.)
    • LAN Services, (switches, routers, etc.)
    • Network Security Services (firewall, IDS/IPS, DLP, etc.)
    • 'Unified Communications Services'
    • Voice: Includes fixed voice, mobile voice and soft phones
    • Conferencing: Includes audio conferencing, videoconferencing and Web conferencing. Includes meeting room technologies, multipoint webcam approaches, and unified or integrated conferencing solutions
    • Messaging: Includes e-mail, voice mail and unified messaging
    • Presence: Includes IM, presence and rich presence aggregation (the ability to aggregate and publish presence and location information from multiple sources)
    • Clients: Includes thick clients, thin Web clients and mobile clients. This may also include limited software dashboard clients for imbedding within IT applications
    • Applications: Includes applications that have integrated communication functions. Four key application areas are consolidated administration tools, collaboration applications, notification applications and contact center applications. Over time, additional IT applications will be integrated, leading to communications-enabled business processes (CEBP).
  • Design and maintain Communications Services portion of IT Service Catalogue
  • Working with ITSM SME's, maintain and improve ITIL processes/capabilities related to Communications Services, including
    • Availability Management
    • Capacity Management
    • Incident Management
    • Problem Management
  • Drives creation and maintenance of Policies and Procedures for Global Communications Services
  • Create process and procedures needed to manage helpdesk tickets, (requests and incidents), to insure compliance with SLA's and OLA's
  • Maintain and test DR systems and provide weekly reports of health status to IT Operations Leadership
  • Support 'McAfee in Action' program; early adoption and use of McAfee products in the IT environment, with an eye towards enhancing engineering knowledge as well as supporting sales activities via case studies, etc.
  • Create and maintain electronic documentation of all infrastructure and support systems related to Global Communications
  • Ensure systems comply with SOX requirements and provide reporting to auditors during reporting periods, as appropriate
  • Perform HR functions such as quarterly objectives setting / reviews and annual personnel reviews
  • Mentor subordinate managers and team members to ensure consistent service from the GCS group
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, plans and proposals
  • Prepare and present periodic status of projects or initiatives as required
  • This position involves high-level personnel interaction and task prioritization; executive level briefings, etc.
  • 3 years - Demonstrated senior management/direction of combined voice and data organizations
  • 7 years - Management of small to mid-size teams, specifically as they relate to networks and/or Unified Communications
  • 2 years - Work within a team infrastructure, supporting those within the group for reasons of customer and company support
  • Strong communication skills and strong customer focus; executive level presentation skills
  • Expertise in Network Security/Security Operations
  • Deep technical knowledge and strong administration skills related to networks and Unified Communications, (CISCO and AVAYA certifications are preferred)
  • ITIL Foundations Certification required.  ITIL Practitioner's certificate(s) highly desirable
  • Flexible in terms of working hours; IT operations is an 'on-call' environment
  • Bachelors or advanced degree in IT / IS preferred
  • Strong skills in:
    • Influencing, conflict resolution, and managing expectations at all levels of the organization
    • Verbal and written communications skills
    • Manage team independently and self-direct based on priorities of T3 management
    • Customer-focused orientation, with an emphasis on reliability, quality, accuracy and service
    • Ensuring compliance to standard procedures and SOX guidelines
    • Proven ability to prioritize and service multiple simultaneous tasks and/or initiatives
