Description:Electrical engineers will be called upon to design and conduct design reviews of complex electrical systems, components, and equipment associated with the modernization, expansion and upgrade of complex electrical and visual aids system within National Air Space (NAS).

Electrical power systems may include combinations of more than one source of commercial power, auxiliary engine generators, power conditioning systems, uninterruptible power systems and complex switching and monitoring systems.

Electrical engineers will provide the necessary engineering and design support in various areas of electrical engineering specialization to include: radar, navigation aids, communications, microwave data transmission and automation.Qualifications:A minimum of 10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering that shall include at least two years experience as a project manager or team leader.

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering-In-Training Examination (EIT) or Professional Engineering (PE) certification.

Senior personnel must also possess experience in the most current electrical engineering principles and practices.

Must also possess the ability to develop new electrical engineering practices for use in the FAA work environment and develop generic electrical engineering packages for use in the installation of major systems, components, and equipment in a variety of differing types of FAA facilities (e.g. ARTCC, TRACON, Towers, etc.).

Knowledge of the National Air Space (NAS) components and systems interrelationships.

Capable of applying MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and learning and applying Corporate Work Plan (CWP) applications, KSN, ProjectWise database and can use the Internet as a data gathering and communicating tool.

Must be accomplished with clear and concise general and technical writing, preparation of effective technical presentations, thorough project monitoring and reporting, and ability to tactfully coordinate with a variety of project stake holders, peers and management levels.

Familiarity with 3 phase 480V AC distribution power systems and proper sizing (conductors, conduit, transformers, over current devices, etc) down to the branch circuit level.

Knowledge of National Electric Code Chapters 1-4.
Ability to provide cost estimates (ex. Using RS Means)
Ability to review Electrical Short Circuit Coordination Studies/Arc Flash analysis and provide comments.

Ability to edit and review electrical drawing and specification packages during design.

Familiar with Engine Generator sizing.

Support construction: includes site visits to verify correct installation per drawings, enforcement of specifications, reviewing contractor submittals and answering Request For Information (RFI).

Rudimentary knowledge of HVAC systems.

Passed the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) eight-hour Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Examination.
