Job Description
The Riverside County Regional Medical Center in Moreno Valley is currently recruiting for a NURSE MANAGER for the EMERGENCY DEPT (ER/ED).
MUST have:
6 yrs supervisory exper in acute care, with at least 2 years in ED.
BLS & MICN.

Adult and Pediatric Level II Trauma Center
Teaching Facility
The Emergency Department at RCRMC is a large unit comprised of 41 treatment areas. The 25 general exam rooms include a decontamination room, security rooms, an ENT, cast room, as well as a forensic exam room. The ED is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The ED also operates 10 of its beds as a FAST TRACK during peak hours to see the non-acute patients.
This ED sees approximately 77,000 patients annually. This translates to about 210 patients in 24 hours.

This position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Nursing Services and is characterized by having control of the Emergency Department on a 24 hour basis.
Examples Of Duties:
The Nurse Manager will:
- Provide leadership, plans, organizes, and supervises personnel;
- Manage, report on, and provide resources for patient care;
- Have 24-hour responsibility for the operation, care, and services provided by the Emergency Department;
- Responsible for patient care standards, budget, and orientation & training of staff.
- Provides management oversight and promotes consistency in personnel compliance with the Regional Medical Center and Department of Health philosophy, policies and procedures, and regulatory/licensure/accreditation standards.
Typical Qualifications:
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: Graduation from a recognized college with diploma or degree as a Registered Nurse, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing ( BSN ) or related field is required. Master's degree in Nursing preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Six years of leadership supervisory experience in an acute care hospital, with at least two years of that experience in the Emergency Department.
LICENSE: Must possess current CA Registered Nurse license. Also, must have current BLS and MICN certification. Current ATCN or CEN not required, but preferred.
Master's degree in Nursing or related field is not required, but is preferred. Previous Nurse Manager & certification in Emergency Nursing is also preferred*
Knowledge of: Principles of Leadership and Management; Nursing processes and its application in patient care; licensure, accreditation and regulatory requirements; personnel scheduling; performance evaluations; group dynamics; progressive disciplinary action; teambuilding and conflict management; problem-solving and management techniques.
Ability to: Implement the principles of leadership and management, use nursing process; and ensure compliance with Medical Center goals, objectives, strategic plan, policies and procedures. Prepare and maintain reports and clinical records; communicate clearly via oral and written methods; monitor critical practice indicators, identify opportunities for improvement, and guide the implementation of the action plan; analyze and maintain budget accountability; establish, communicate, and monitor performance standards and expectations; manage time effectively; make sound decisions using problem-solving skills; and use productive group dynamics to achieve teamwork.
