Director of Club Accounting Opportunity

 

Shady Valley Country Clubs amenities include an 18-hole par 70 golf course, pro shop, one tennis court and swimming pool.  The clubhouse includes golf shop, grill and private dining.  The Club is located 20 minutes from Dallas/Fort Worth Airport.

 

This Department Head position requires a responsible team player to handle all accounting matters related to the club.  The Director of Club Accounting prepares timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. In addition, the selected candidate will assist the Club Manager with weekly forecasting and preparation of the annual budget.

 

The Director of Club Accounting is a hands-on individual at our clubs and s/he maintains the clubs Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll and General Ledger reconciliation.  S/he is responsible for ensuring that appropriate internal controls are in place to safeguard the assets of the club. S/he is responsible for communicating professionally with Members, which includes resolving problems with their monthly billing, or collection issues.

 

The position also facilitates the Clubs payroll and oversees that all employee partner files are maintained according to Federal, State and local requirements. S/he may also be required to witness disciplinary action.

 

The Director of Club Accounting has a unique dual reporting structure, in reporting to the Club Manager and the Regional Accountant.

 

The Director of Club Accounting is an advocate and ambassador of STAR Service and understanding the critical role that membership plays in regards to the success of the operation.

 

Qualifications:

 

v      Integrity

v      Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related (or Bachelors Degree in another field with at least two years experience in a computerized accounting environment)

v      One year club or hospitality accounting experience in a computerized accounting environment a plus.

v      Strong technical literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel, Oracle experience a plus.

v      Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

v      Diplomatic team player able to foster relationships with members/guests, employee partners and the regional team.
