SUMMARY

This position will have overall responsibility for identifying and winning Army business opportunities and customer retention.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Develop and implement a proactive sales strategy to maximize Army sales and meet/exceed assigned sales objectives;

  • Understand and analyze Congressional Budget;

  • Develop financial goals and targets;

  • Analyze industry trends and competitors' strengths & direction;

  • Identify contracts and programs to pursue;

  • Financially qualify potential sources;

  • Continually monitor and maintain Opportunity Register pipeline for potential Army business;

  • Develop & maintain meaningful relationships that lead to trusted partnerships with prospective customers to facilitate growth;

  • Maintain all sales and profit targets within a defined budget;

  • Involvement with proposal efforts and negotiations with customer;

  • Represent the interest of customers on cross-functional teams by championing the business requirements to implement and execute the business plan to assure customer retention and customer satisfaction;

  • Work in liaison with other departments to ensure compliance with program and contract performance/requirements;

  • Present an aggressive professional image of Oshkosh Corporation to agencies of the U.S. and/or foreign governments;

  • Provide a positive example of how to work effectively, take initiative to improve processes, and retain customer base.



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field

· 4+ years of business development experience


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field

· 4+ years of experience in Army sales experience with proven ability to build customer relationships

· Solid U.S. government financial and contract experience

· Proven experience with winning large defense contracts

· Strong working knowledge of defense vehicle business



  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to lead a team of Business Development Associates and Reps

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment with very tight deadlines
