QHSE Manager - Smith International, Inc. (Lafayette /Lake Charles, Louisiana)

Smith International, Inc., a Fortune 500 Company, is a leading supplier of premium products and services to the oil and gas exploration and production industry, the petrochemical industry and other industrial markets.  We are seeking to hire a qualified candidate to fill the position of QHSE Manager in our Lafayette, LA location.

Job Summary:

The selected individual will provide Regional Operations and Senior QHSE Management with continuous advice and support to ensure that Quality, Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (QHSE) remains an integral part of each of the business units operations and equal in priority to production and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide assistance and support to facility management and staff in all matters relating to QHSE
• Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of QHSE documentation and records
• Participate in the development and management of internal and external audits
• Coordinate and participate in management reviews
• Deliver and coordinate QHSE training

Job Qualifications:

• Associates Degree or equivalent in Health & Safety or Environmental Management preferred
• Minimum 5 years experience in QHSE or related oilfield services operations
• Minimum 2 years experience in Environmental Management required
• Excellent presentation skills
• Responsible for Environmental compliance
• Ability to prioritize and deliver projects
• Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
• Experience developing and implementing QHSE policies and procedures
• Effective leadership and teambuilding skills needed
• Must demonstrate creativity that drives change
• Listening and interpersonal skills are essential
• Strong communication skills including negotiation and influencing others
