Joslin Clinic is the worlds first and most respected diabetes care facility. The Patient Access Representative performs functions that enhance patient access and increase revenue to the clinic. Advises patients regarding insurance coverage and financial obligations, completes registration and scheduling of patients in the automated registration /scheduling system, and collects payments. Hours are 8:30-5:00, Monday-Friday. Review and update patient registration/demographic information. High School Diploma or accredited business school or certificate program. Must be knowledgeable about insurance requirements for various plans, verification and referral retrieval through various websites. Knowledge of personal computer and automated registration/scheduling systems. Verify and scans insurance information at time of service to ensure appropriate and complete information has been obtained.
Obtain referral waiver forms when appropriate.
Collect co-payments and self pay payments for miscellaneous Joslin services.
Acknowledge and print patient arriving into the Units.
Utilize scheduling system for many types of appointments.
Enter managed care referral.
Complete confirmation calls.
Provide general information to patients and visitors.
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.Qualifications:
A Minimum of 2 years experience in a medical office setting.
Knowledge of insurance and collection of payments.
Knowledge of hospital admissions.
Demonstrated skill in customer service, team building and problem solving.
