Livestock Production Specialist (dairy) [5635BR]

Position Purpose:

This position will work with the All American Co-op in Stewartville, MN.

This position is responsible for maximizing feed sales volume for the benefit of farmer members. The position will focus on dairy feed sales. Additional responsibilities include: Promotes the sales of Feed Division products to producers on the basis of current sales records, marketing surveys, farmer profiles, marketing plans, advertising development, newsletters and other promotional methods; Increase unit sales and market share by contacting and actively selling to all current and potential customers of the assigned cooperative. Provides necessary product information to producers at assigned accounts; Keeps abreast of current practices, feed and livestock developments, and trends in the area by attending and participating in local area livestock meetings and events, and by reading applicable farm publications and trade magazines; Provides reports as required by the supervisor and cooperative management. Maintains individual producer information on ration and management recommendations.

Required (Basic) Education/Experience:

B.S. in Animal Science/Ag Business or related field highly desired. Must be able to lift and carry 50 lb bags of feed as needed. Feed sales and dairy ration experience preferred.

Required Competencies and Other Skills:

Technical orientation. Highly motivated. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong leadership, customer focused, feed sales and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and travel daily.

Preferred Education/Experience:

Preferred candidate will have a dairy production background and previous dairy consulting experience.

Preferred Competencies and Other Skills:

Must be self motivated and have a passion for dairy farm production.
