Michael Baker Jr. Inc., an engineering unit of Michael Baker Corporation, seeks a Senior Transportation Project Manager (Project Manager III) for our Salt Lake City (Midvale), Utah Office.

The Senior Transportation Project Manager will serve as Project Manager for complex transportation projects primarily consisting of Highways and Bridges.  Primary tasks are developing scope, schedules and budget for engineering for State Departments of Transportation, and then managing the design process through bid documents.  The position will require business development in the form of meeting with prospective clients, developing win strategies and writing proposals.  Candidates  should have a background in developing plan sets for highway projects and a knowledge of all disciplines of highway engineering including  bridges, roadway and storm-water management.  Candidate should be able to demonstrate insight into the consultant DOT relationship and have a history of developing plans for State DOT highway projects.   The hiring office has multiple teams of highway, bridge and drainage designers with a strong reputation. 

 

Requirements:

         Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering

         Experience as a design engineer on major highway projects

         Minimum of 15 years of transportation experience

         Prerequisite position for the Senior Project manager position would be, Project Manager or Program Manager on multi-disciplined or single disciplined highway projects or Lead Engineer or engineering manager for an office or for highway projects in excess of $20 Million construction

         Utah Professional Engineer (PE) License, or ability to obtain within 6 months

         Program Management or Project Management experience on state DOT projects

         Experience managing transportation projects and coordination with Owners, Utilities, and other stakeholders.  

         Key relationships and outstanding reputation

         Has track record of developing relationships

         Computer Skills:  MS Office Suite

Preferences:

         Design-Build , CMGC or CM-at risk experience preferred

         Utah DOT experience

         Scheduling Experience Primavera Project manager
