Dear Friends,

Welcome to LISTA Tech-Latino 2030 Networking Site, our goal with this site is to increase job opportunities and develop our industry for the empowerment of our community.

As you know, we are currently facing severe economic conditions. Yet with these challenges come opportunities. To identify new opportunities for you and your business, we invite you to be part of Latinos in Information Sciences and Technology Association Tech-Latino Networking Site.

With the election of President Barack Obama, the nation is not only ushering in a change in minority representation at the highest levels of office, but a change in technology policies and opportunities. The desire and foresight by the United States President to seek and apply renewed interest in science and technology is a crucial element in the country's growth and in revitalizing the U.S. economy.

As the nation's leading organization of Latino Technology Professionals, Latinos in Information Sciences and Technology Association (LISTA) works with both the private and public sectors to increase Hispanic opportunity, presence and representation in America's information sciences industries.

LISTA fully recognizes that this country's future depends on nurturing and drawing upon the creative men and women in our scientific, computer science, and engineering community and developing the fastest-growing ethnic group in the country. Latinos represent both one of the greatest growth markets for the technology, telecommunications and information sectors, and we are one of the greatest pools of talent for America's success in the global information economy. By the year 2030, Latinos will make up 25 percent of the U.S. population. It's important to remember that we are all in this together and that Latino issues are America's issues.

The LISTA Tech Latino 2030 Networking Site will provide Latino IT professionals not only job opportunities but helpful ideas to make strides in your career and address your concerns about the industries of science and technology. It will also provide LISTA an opportunity to continue to raise awareness of the digital divide, how to bridge it, develop ideas on how to stimulate the growth of technology business and be a catalyst of change in the high-technology and science sector. Here we will offer a fresh perspective on today's changing technological, and economic landscape and how new technology policies will affect the Latino Community for the next 30 years.

Moving forward, Latinos will play an increasing role in developing our nation's technology public policy and will directly impact the future of our economy and overall success. We need to get more engaged in technology, green jobs, sciences, energy and other innovation industries driving our economy.

Your support in increasing the pipeline of Latino talent in the science and technology sectors and LISTA's presence in our community is part of the investment we must make in our Nation.

Join us and become a partner in change and help LISTA shape America's 21st Century Information Sciences and Technology Workforce.
