Why the lack of hispanic video professionals?
I am disturbed by the fact that what seems to be almost every company I have had as a client, that no Hispanics are in the professional capacities. "We" seem to be the doorman, the cleaner or the maintenance person. Not that there is any shame in that ( used to be a mechanic myself ) but I am just upset of the fact I seem to be the only Hispanic in the room or the floor for that matter.
Also, I can't understand why in the world that most of the video work that we do make, it is of primitive type or just plain tacky. Even the very few films that have made it to the big screen have been of poor quality and have no real substance in their coloring and scripting.
I hope that those of you who come in contact with any Hispanic young or old that may be interested in getting involved in the arts, that they inspire to make high quality films and care about the entire process to get that result.
