Born of Dominican and Cuban descent, James Pérez Foster, is Head of Capital Markets for touchPoint Partners, based in Boulder, Colorado. In his current capacity, James heads research and capital & donor fundraising initiatives for global clients including; Geneva Global (Social Impact Fund), National Geographic and StarShine Academy. The firm, specializes in fundraising, cause marketing awareness campaigns and corporate social responsibility (CSR) program design and implementation for socially purposed
enterprises.
James is Founder and Chairman Emeritus of Solera National Bancorp, Inc. [SLRK:OTC] Launched in 2007, Solera National Bank became the first nationally chartered Bank Holding Company established in the state of Colorado in nearly eight years, and one of the first national Hispanic-focused community commercial banks in the United States. After achieving its' regulatory approvals from four federal agencies, James spearheaded a 13-state Blue Sky, SEC regulated initial public offering (IPO) raising $25.5 million in under four months. James served as Chairman of the Board of the Bank Holding Company, Chaired the Executive Committee and the Hispanic Initiatives Committee and was an active
participant of the bank’s Asset & Liability and Nominating & Governance Committees.
With over 19-years of managerial, operational and entrepreneurial experience, James has expertise in
strategic growth planning, financial products, raising capital and marketing initiatives relative to the U.S. Hispanic and general markets acquired through his numerous executive experiences. As Managing Director of Denver-based PFS Capital Partners, a Hispanic-specialized management and capital advisory group, James served as Interim Senior Vice President Finance to The Comunidades Group, a Hispanic focused real estate development and management company.
As a Vice President, Portfolio Manager with Merrill Lynch & Co. and Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in
New York City’s Private Client Groups, James oversaw daily trading and asset allocation for institutional and high-net-worth growth accounts. He also served as Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer & VP Finance of new media marketing company, Nascent State, Inc. he established and oversaw all company operating policies. As Executive Vice President for Media Luna, LLC, James grew international operations for the language-niche book publishing company.
James has been recognized by numerous organizations, including; Business Man of the Year Award from the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Denver Metro, the Denver Hispanic Leadership Award, Denver Business Journal’s 40-Under-40, Top-10 PowerBook List (Banking & Finance), and was a national semifinalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
James is a sought after lecturer on the topics of; Entrepreneurialism, Emotional Intelligence, U.S.
Minority Markets Approach & Access. He has a B.A. in International Relations from Syracuse
University’s Maxwell School.
