Position Summary
The SPRx Care Coordinator I is responsible for the processing and coordination of all SPRx patients. They will verify benefits, obtain authorizations, secure all necessary start of care forms, complete order entry and coordinate with pharmacy staff on shipments. They will also act as a liaison between the patient and the physician’s office to coordinate shipments and place on going orders as needed.
Essential Functions and Duties
- Answers telephones utilizing appropriate etiquette when speaking with internal and external customers.
- Initiates the intake process gathering relevant data from the referral source required to admit patient to Nufactor services.
- Enters complete referral information into Nufactor system of record including order entry per prescription.
- Performs insurance eligibility and benefits checks to ensure proper coverage for Nufactor services.
- Determines patient’s financial obligation, out of pockets expense and copays. Contacts patients prior to start of services to discuss financial obligations and make arrangements for payments.
- Enters complete referral information into Nufactor system of record, including order entry per prescription.
- Provides on-going patient support services, obtaining patient update, orders, service needs, placing medication orders and coordination of clinical needs.
- Track shipments via FedEx.com, confirm delivery with recipient, follow up as needed and document delivery in Nufactor’s system of record.
- Adhere specifically to all company policies and procedures, federal, state, and compliance requirements /regulations/laws.

Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Required Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
Required Knowledge:
- Knowledge of medical and pharmacy terminology and calculations, general pharmacy dispensing requirements, including identification of items requiring prescription and valid prescribing data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with patients, co-workers, and management.
- Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy in an organized, detail-oriented manner with appropriate follow-up when required.
- Ability to communicate effectively and at the appropriate level with healthcare professionals and peers.
- Ability to prioritize work and make decisions independently and effectively, often quickly in response to dynamic patient needs, with limited supervision and direction, except where required/restricted by law.
- Working knowledge of state, federal and Joint Commission guidelines/regulations/laws.
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality to the level of required HIPAA standards.
- Ability to use and understand Microsoft Office skills and internet technologies.
Preferred Experience:
- One (1) year health care related experience in a pharmacy, home infusion, specialty/mail order related setting or hospital required.
- In lieu of job-related experience, two (2) years of employment with FFF/Nufactor.
Required Skills:
- Intermediate level of understanding and use of computers applications that include Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and internet technologies.
- Operate office equipment which includes computer, scanner, printer, copier, and phones.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Work with a high degree of accuracy in an organized, detail-oriented manner with appropriate follow up as required.
- Proactive approach to managing workload, able to multi-task and handle frequent interruptions.
- Able to prioritize work and make decisions independently and effectively, often quickly in response to dynamic patient needs, except were required or restricted by law.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact professionally and successfully with patients, healthcare providers, teammates, and management.
- Able to work as part of a team, including on-site and remote teammates.
- Display excellent judgment on a consistent basis with sound decision-making abilities.
Professional Certification:
- Full, current, and unrestricted pharmacy technician registration in the state in which you practice.
Physical requirements
Vision, hearing, speech, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Must have the ability to view a computer screen for prolonged periods and the ability to sit for extended periods. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled. Must have the ability to lift and maneuver items of at least 20 lbs. Must have the ability to travel occasionally. Working condition include normal office setting.

Must be able to pay close attention to detail and be able to work as a member of a team to ensure excellent customer service.
