Our beauty client is looking for a Product Designer to join their design system team, driving scalable, user-centered digital experiences. This is a 3+ month fully remote assignment (40 hrs/week, candidates must work CST hours). 

This role is critical to evolving the system to support a major mobile app redesign and ensure consistency across platforms.

You'll combine expert-level Figma skills with a systems mindset, partnering closely with engineering to deliver seamless design-to-code translation. Experience designing for iOS and Android apps is essential; development literacy is a plus.

Core Responsibilities

• Figma Mastery: Build and maintain component libraries, tokens, and workflows.
• System Governance: Define contribution, maintenance, and versioning processes.
• Cross-Platform Design: Ensure components work across iOS, Android, and web.
• Engineering Collaboration: Align tokens and variables, troubleshoot implementation.
• Innovation: Integrate new Figma features, plugins, and best practices.
• Research Partnership: Validate components and patterns for usability and accessibility.
• Enablement: Lead workshops and onboarding to drive adoption.
• Brand Alignment: Maintain consistency with evolving brand identity.

  Additional Responsibilities

  • Facilitate workshops and critiques for alignment.
  • Support research efforts (usability testing, A/B testing, analytics).
  • Advocate for accessibility and usability standards.
  • Identify and resolve design roadblocks.
  • Mentor new team members and contribute to team rituals.
  • Stay current on eCommerce, mobile UX, and industry trends.

    Requirements

    • 5-7 years in UX/UI or product design, with 2+ years in design systems.
    • Strong portfolio showcasing system-level thinking and mobile app design.
    • Expert-level Figma skills (components, libraries, variables).
    • Familiarity with front-end concepts (HTML, CSS, JS frameworks, design tokens).
    • Proven collaboration with developers and cross-functional teams.
    • Strong communication and organizational skills.
    • Experience with research-informed design and accessibility standards.
    • Passion for design systems and driving impact at scale.
