This position is responsible for providing patient service in a clinical environment and maintaining patient demographic information. The Customer Service Representatives (CSR) must additionally be able to perform patient scheduling duties, process payments/co-payments, and perform other cashiering functions.
Essential Functions
- Updates patient demographics and verifies insurance information per visit.
- Collects payments and provides receipts.
- Performs cashiering responsibilities such as closing daily batch, balancing cash drawers, and allocating the money into the safe.
- Ensures completion of all forms and obtains the required signatures. Notes in the system regarding the release of information, privacy policy, and assignment of benefits.
- Schedules appointments and provides patients with future appointment details.
- Obtains medical records for same day appointments.
- Provides efficient and courteous phone support including answering patient questions/concerns, directing patients to the correct department, and coding telephone encounters to the correct department.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
- Performs Other duties as required.
Position Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one (1) year of previous service-oriented experience
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
