Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a highly motivated and qualified Sr. Staff Systems Engineer in Roy, UT, Huntsville, AL or Colorado Springs, CO. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
What you will get to do:
The selected individual will get to lead Model Verification, Validation (V&V), and Analysis Efforts on the Sentinel Ballistic Missile System EMD Contract. As the lead you will guide contract Model V&V efforts and ensure they meet the critical standards to satisfy contract requirements. You will be the key technical expert for the program on all things Model V&V. This will include supporting the: definition of all Model V&V Plans including the choice of V&V methods to be used based upon the individual model, answering questions from Sentinel teammates and customers, reviewing V&V Reports & Data, as well as providing final approval for deliveries to the customer of CDRLs related to V&V. You will also perform similar functions for Model Analysis Reports and Analysis Data CDRLs. You will also guide Technical Performance Metrics activities and routinely report these critical program metrics to the customer and the Northrop Grumman Sentinel Office of the Chief Engineer (OCE). Working with the OCE to provide both metrics and insight to the customer and other USG VIPs. Finally, you are a key asset for the SEIT MS&A Lead working directly with that person on a variety or related MS&A activities.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline and 14 years of related experience; 12 years' experience with a Master of Science degree; 10 years' experience with a PhD.
• Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
• Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
• Extensive experience (8+ years) and expertise with Model Verification and Validation
• Experience (2+ years) with the development and reporting on Technical Performance Measures
• Experience (4+ years) with ballistic missiles
• Experience (2+ years) with Model based Analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
• MS in STEM
• CJ2 SAP Access
• Experience (2+ years) with the Sentinel Program
• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Ability to lead through influence

Salary Range: $162,500.00 - $269,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
