Job Description

Senior Software Engineer (SS&C Technologies, Inc.; Boston, MA): The Senior Software Engineer is based at SS&C’s office in Boston, Massachusetts with a telecommuting benefit. The incumbent must reside within commuting distance from SS&C’s Boston office. The Senior Software Engineer works on the Eze Marketplace platform. The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for developing scalable, maintainable, and testable systems that will host and run various partner applications within Eze Eclipse and Eze OMS. This role will utilize the latest front-end and back-end technologies within a highly automated continuous integration/ continuous delivery environment. Specific responsibilities include: Working closely with teams, project, and product managers to deliver scalable REST & GraphQL services using GoLang & Nodejs; front end using React, AngularJS; Developing and implementing underlying data models for applications and services to be scalable and maintainable (Relational and Document Based Databases); Building and maintaining critical components of Eze Marketplace like APls, API-Gateway, API-Gateway plugins, Authentication & Authorization subsystem; Identifying improvements and participating on innovating Petitioner's tools and services that are at the foundation of the Petitioner's product; Actively practicing TDD & BDD while developing new features and refactoring existing code; Providing operational support by fixing production issues and embracing continuous delivery, onboarding a partner's application in Marketplace, and communicating with external partners to resolve any issues; Demonstrating features during team meetings; Collaborating with teams to articulate and prioritize requirements for the project; Reviewing code for team members, and providing in-depth comments and constructive feedback; Improving Cl/CD of existing projects by creating new testing and build pipeline; and, improving application monitoring by updating and creating new health checks in the application.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field plus 5 years of experience in a software engineering/development role. Alternatively, will accept a Master’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field plus 3 years of pre- or post-Master’s degree experience in a software engineering/development role.

Must have: 3 years of experience working on front end software development using any JavaScript frameworks or libraries like jQuery, AngularJS or React. 3 years of experience working on server-side software development using object-oriented programming or functional programming languages. 3 years of experience with performing a requirement analysis and develop an architecture to achieve the requirements. 3 years of experience with using professional tools for documentation and architecture diagrams. 3 years of hands-on experience using various industry standard best practices and tools for deployment into staging and production environments. 3 years of hands-on experience working on a professional development environment using version control systems like Git or Subversion. 3 years of experience with debugging and IDE tools to troubleshoot production issues. 1 year of experience with using and implementing software on AWS technologies. Proven ability to work in a DevOps model of development, using various agile methodologies and processes. Proven ability to work closely with several teams across the org to deliver scalable RESTful, GraphQL services.
