Maintenance Team Leader (Mechanical and Electrical) Plant McIntosh
The Maintenance Team Leader provides for general direction and leadership for the Plant McIntosh IBEW maintenance employees. The team leader is accountable for team development, technical direction, performance management, optimizing employee productivity, and managing resources. In this role the team leader is responsible for safety, work priorities, environmental and regulatory compliance, and other related maintenance goals as identified in the plant business plan. The Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for troubleshooting and repairs of all plant systems and components. Additionally, the team leader must be forwardthinking, open to seeking efficiencies and improvements utilizing an innovative approach, leveraging and applying new technologies to improve plant performance and teamwork execution.
This position provides input to the Plant Leadership Team concerning potential work method, process, or equipment improvements. We are looking for a person who has a strong operational plant background that will contribute to the success of the Plant.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision and coordination of the work activities for the mechanical and electrical craft personnel.
- Utilize the four-week planning process and establish work priorities for team members to balance a timely response for equipment or system problems.
- Innovate to continually seek to improve the plant's availability and reliability at the lowest cost possible.
- Provide coaching through performance management for each member of the crew seeking to develop the employees' skills for future opportunities.
- Responsible for maintenance activities associated with plant systems which occur during scheduled work hours and will handle on-call duties.
- Provide input to the O & M managers on potential work method or organizational improvements that would contribute to the success of the Maintenance activities.
- Lead the maintenance, repair, and evaluation of all plant systems. Train and coach personnel working on equipment, scheduling maintenance work, ensure that LOTO, materials and equipment are available. Coordinate all work with stakeholders.
- Ensure that regulatory requirements, budget, and goals are met.
Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
- Mechanical or Electrical journeyman, or engineering and project management experience in a power plant- 5+ years preferred.
- A two-year technical degree or engineering degree a plus.
- Relevant project management experience is preferred.
- Recent performance management experience preferred.
- Recent demonstrated leadership is preferred. Demonstrated leadership could include, but is not limited to, outage coordination, substitution, formal leadership roles on special projects or teams.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proven relationship-building skills and ability to work with people to achieve desired objectives.
- Knowledge of the 4-week planning process, MAXIMO, Primavera, CiMS, and purchasing process.
- Proficient in use of computer-based applications.
- Good understanding of the contractual agreement between Georgia Power Company and the I.B.E.W. is strongly preferred.
- Experience in plant maintenance preferred.
- Thorough understanding of plant equipment and systems.
- Working knowledge of maintenance, planning, and operations practices
