Job Summary

  • Our Financial Institutions Investors (FI) Bankers are responsible for the strategic coverage of large banks, real money investment firms, private credit and macro hedge fund clients. They use their deep industry expertise to develop and execute the client account plans, across the entire client lifecycle with the goal of growing the overall bank to client relationship. We're looking for people with a client-first mindset to deliver appropriate products and services to our clients, who are both capable and confident working with diverse teams across a diverse mix of markets and cultures. The ability to quickly build one's internal network across multiple time zones is key to future success.
  • We are seeking an Assistant Relationship Manager to join our team at Standard Chartered Bank. The successful candidate will be working with the team's Managing Director and other Senior Relationship Managers.
  • The role available is the coverage of Americas based Real Money Funds, Hedge Funds, Credit Funds, and Asset Managers with financial sponsor strategies who are actively managing investment strategies in emerging markets fixed income and/or alternatives and private credit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a secondary point of contact for client relationships internally and externally, working in conjunction with the Senior Relationship Manager (SRM) to provide services to clients.
  • Build personal relationship with clients, establishing contacts within the client organisation to ensure seamless and consistent coverage and delivery.
  • Idea generation, pitching and presenting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive assistance to the Senior Relationship Manager with transactional support on new business origination activities i.e. client research, pitch books, industry leads etc; including coordination with network and product.
  • Support SRM on sales discipline requirements i.e. Account Planning process; pipeline maintenance; client call reports; preparation and presentation of deal approval submissions.
  • Coordinate with Product Sales and network and assist the SRM with deal returns calculations and pricing analysis.
  • Client meeting preparation including preparing briefing notes, coordinating internal discussions and other preparation for client meetings in partnership with the Banker.
  • Provide support on new business transactions i.e. deal execution support, document negotiation, coordination with Product Sales and Client Management team on documentation matters, coordination with Product Sales and network on fee booking and revenue recognition.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, preference for business / finance.
  • Knowledge of fixed income markets including Macro credit products.
  • 2-3 years minimum experience in banking or related field.
  • Self-starter with proven internal/client facing networking skills.
  • Point to point problem solving skills.
  • Curiosity and passion for growth and learning.
  • Series 7, 63 79 preferred.
  • Ability to provide outstanding account management support and develop trusted relationships.
  • Analysis of financial reports and statements to evaluate performance and investment suitability.
  • Strong quantitative skills.

Expected annual base pay range for the role is 155,000 USD to 175,000 USD. The final offer will be determined on an individualised basis using a number of variables, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and education, internal relativity, and specific work location. At Standard Chartered Bank, Base pay is only part of the total compensation package. Discretionary variable pay and a range of attractive bank sponsored benefit programs are available and designed to foster employee overall health and well-being including, but not limited to, a best in class 401k plan with up to 8% employer match, robust medical plan coverage with employer funded Health Savings Accounts, inclusive family building benefits, and flexible/hybrid working arrangements for many of our positions subject to role specific considerations

Recruitment Assessments

Expected annual base pay range for the role is 128,000 USD to 160,000 USD. The final offer will be determined on an individualised basis using a number of variables, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and education, internal relativity, and specific work location.
