POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will primarily support field sales for growth and market development in the Cardiac Surgery and ORs, EP labs, and related departments in the following: 

• Support during surgical procedures and EP procedures where appropriate and where company devices have been or are being utilized
• Training of surgical OR and EP staff personnel in the use of company devices
• Market development and awareness as it relates to concomitant and minimally invasive cardiac surgery ablation and left atrial appendage management procedures.
• Guidance and support for physicians during live surgical ablation procedures, and utilization and/or operation of company technology
• Patient support and follow-up where requested by physician, operating room staff and EP lab staff

This position requires teamwork and strategic planning with the sales force and Education teams. The focus of the CAS is to support the account development process for the company by providing a resource to the sales manager, physician, and operating room staff. The CAS must be able to train and support the physician and their staff in various procedures and support him/her technically in the O.R., EP Lab, and other areas and during follow-up patient care as required. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

• Conduct training for the physician and medical staff with modalities such as didactic and hands-on laboratory approaches
• Provide technical and clinical support during surgical procedures
• Make calls on physicians and support staff as necessary to discuss AtriCure technology, training programs, and clinical programs and trials
• Work in a team environment with Sales, Marketing, and Engineering
• Communication on frequent basis, reporting on case notes and product and clinical feedback
• Responsible for satisfying the requirements for hospital account and credentialing processes

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong attention to detail
• Experience working in cardiac surgery either through industry or clinical setting preferred.
• Presentation and customer relationship skills
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with people across all levels
• Computer experience with Microsoft programs such as PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Excellent interpersonal skills. The candidate must enjoy and excel at personal relationship-building
• Problem-solving / trouble-shooting skills
• Ability to travel 20-40%, dependent upon territory

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Undergraduate degree in technical or scientific field

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to regularly walk, sit, stand, bend, push, pull as needed
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
• Ability to pass account and hospital credentialing processes
