The City of Tucumcari is looking for a highly professional, experienced, and motivated individual to fill the role of Chief of Police for our agency!  The Chief of Police, under administrative direction of the City Manager, provides strategic leadership, management, organization, direction, and supervision of all operations and activities of the City’s Police Department to prevent and solve crime, and protect life and property. Demonstrates strong ethical, professional, and service oriented leadership. Responsible for the training, performance management, and morale of the department. Exercises independent judgment and discretion; develops and administers the department budget; formulates administrative policies, and standard operating procedures to ensure safe, fair, and consistent law enforcement.
