The role:
Bring your leadership skills and knowledge to our Commerce and Compliance Division as our commercial vehicle licensing account services manager. In this role, you will oversee customer service offices in Salem and Portland and lead initiatives designed to comply with federal and state programs and will participate in national level discussions regarding commercial vehicle licensing and fuel tax programs. A day in the life:

  • Provide oversight and policy direction to staff working in the assigned unit.

  • Plan, assign and review work of staff.

  • Identify staffing needs and collaborate with Human Resources to make hiring decisions.

  • Ensure consistent and timely decision making between supervised units and provide technical expertise to staff regarding investigations, account set up, registration, licensing and customer facing office operations.

  • Ensure staff are accurately and appropriately responding to inquiries and following established laws, rules, procedures and regulations.

  • Develop and oversee communication strategies to ensure effective workflow.

  • Partner with Human Resources and other departments regarding personnel issues, coaching and career development.

  • Serve as subject matter expert in the development of administrative rules and drafting legislative proposals.

  • Act as system steward for assigned systems, ensuring system integrity, functionality and alignment with program requirements.

  • Oversee implementation of system updates, advocate for program improvements and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

  • Facilitate effective communication between ODOT, state or federal entities and other interested parties.

  • Work is performed in a typical office environment and requires travel to field offices and out of state conferences.

  • This position is eligible for hybrid work with 3 days in the office per week.

Minimum qualifications:
Four years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience.

OR


One year of related experience and a bachelor's degree in a related field.


Special qualifications: Driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid US driver license and an acceptable driving record. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s). Your license does not have to be issued in Oregon to be considered.
