The Controller is responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity and its subsidiaries. They will participate in senior leadership team oversight of the company. Responsibilities include assisting management with important financial decisions, preparing and monitoring company’s financial statements and reports, supervising employees, and understanding the financials of the company to meet legal requirements and keep the financial state of the organization in good standing, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, including non-profit accounting, regulatory pronouncements, and internal policies and controls. The position supervises staff functions responsible for payroll, job cost, inventory, fixed assets, accounts payable and accounts receivable, cash flow analysis and business line financial analysis.

Required Qualifications
Education, credentials, and experience:
- 5+ years progressive accounting/auditing experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP.
- Budget and forecasting analytical experience.
- General ledger systems experience – Sage Intact or other medium to large general ledger packages.
- Employee and project management experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Education, credentials, and experience:
- CPA/CMA
- 3 years supervisory/leadership experience
- Accounting experience in real estate, construction, banking and/or nonprofit lending
