Full Job Description

The Baltimore Museum of Art seeks a full-time Director of Corporate Relations to plan, implement, and monitor a comprehensive corporate giving and sponsorship program. This role includes developing strategies for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of corporate partnerships that includes philanthropic giving, sponsorships, in-kind partnerships, employee engagement, and strategic co-branding opportunities. This position reports to the Senior Director of Advancement and will be part of the Advancement Leadership team and assume a major role in creating and driving strategy for cross-functional collaboration to build on current corporate relationships and develop a new corporate prospect pipeline. The Director also supervises the Corporate Relations Manager and provides strategic guidance to ensure alignment with the department's goals.

As a highly visible representative of the museum to the public, the Director of Corporate Relations must have extensive knowledge of museum advancement operations and systems, poise, and the ability to manage a wide array of unique relationships necessary to be successful in a high-profile institution. This position collaborates with colleagues in the Advancement Department and across the institution including the senior leadership team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Developing and implementing a comprehensive corporate giving strategy, including identifying and qualifying potential corporate donors, developing solicitation strategies, and managing a portfolio of existing relationships

Securing funding for exhibitions, programs, special events, education initiatives, capital projects and general operations

Creating tailored proposals, sponsorship packages, and pitch materials in partnership with marketing and communications

Achieving annual revenue goals and contribute to long-term fundraising planning

Cultivating strong relationships with corporate prospects and donors, building trust, and fostering collaborative partnerships

Developing and executing effective solicitation strategies, ensuring timely and accurate reporting and managing donor relations

  • Representing the Museum at corporate networking and philanthropic events, serving as a key ambassador to the business community,
  • Building relationships with key corporate decision-makers and ensuring successful stewardship of existing and new partners
  • Coordinating, facilitating and attending visits with corporate partners, preparing itineraries and briefing materials, and overseeing involvement with key museum leaders, board members and staff partners
  • Developing creative stewardship strategies to recognize and engage corporate supporters
  • Regularly evaluating and assessing progress toward goals, and reporting on results

Maintain and update records of corporate and foundation donors and prospects in the Museum's donor database

  • Supervising the Corporate Relations Manager, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance management to support team success and professional growth

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent professional experience

Minimum of 7 years of experience in fundraising, business development or corporate relations, preferably in a cultural or nonprofit setting

Proven experience with a focus on cultivating and soliciting major gifts

Results-driven individual who passionately believes in the mission of The Baltimore Museum of Art

Strong organizational and relationship management skills; ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects on a timely basis

Adept at developing strong relationships externally with corporate partners, board members, advisory boards, and internally with senior level management, and internal staff from various department

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Excellent presentation skills

Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and customer service skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook suite

Familiarity with Blackbaud's Raisers Edge preferred

SALARY - $100,000 - $125,000 annually
