Full Job Description

The Education Manager (EM) reports to the Director of Meetings and Education.  The EM will assist the Education Department in the successful planning and execution of all IAVM education, learning, and content components. The EM will organize and maintain the basic Education Department‘s team operations.

The EM will embrace the challenge of driving the development strategy behind end user professional development programs and actively participate in the strategic direction of the Education Department that aligns to the overall IAVM business plan.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design programs and recruit speakers for live events and online learning as assigned.
  • Write session descriptions, speaker introductions, scripts and review presentations for all educational offerings.
  • Oversee speaker management to ensure exceptional presentations and attendee experience for IAVM participants, including speaker contracts, concise communication throughout the planning process, and post event follow up to include participant evaluation details.
  • Work with speakers on audiovisual needs and collaborate with meetings team on stage setup and requirements.
  • Manage the administration of webinars, including managing schedules, invitations, rehearsals, day-of hosting, sponsorship fulfillment and ensuring the webcast is supported with regards to technology needs.
  • Manage all process of online learning content and micro-credentials from concept to launch and monitor for regular updates and relevancy.
  • Analyze evaluation data from assigned meetings, membership data, and relevant IAVM committees to continually assess program quality and presentation effectiveness to inform future programming efforts.
  • Ensure conference content is sufficient to satisfy IAVM certification program needs and any relevant CEUs based on assigned meetings.
  • Collaborate with the meetings team on agenda development and event planning.
  • May provide in-person support for and participate in special projects or events when necessary.
  • Act as staff liaison to assigned management committees
  • Performs other administrative or special duties, as required.

EXPERIENCE

  • Working knowledge of adult education with three or more years' experience.
  • Two or more years' experience in customer service.
  • Two or more years' working with volunteers preferred.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Computer and software knowledge, including a proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Knowledge of curriculum design, adult continuing education theory and program evaluation techniques.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Knowledge of venue management or ability to learn content of the field
