Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Guidance Navigation Control (GN&C) Engineer (T02) / Principal Engineer (T03 level). This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program. 
This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You'll Get To Do:
The engineer in this role will continue to mature the Guidance System's ground and flight software algorithm design. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to perform one or more of the Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) or Modeling and Simulation (M&S) tasks:

• Develop and analyze GNC algorithms (guidance, navigation, controls/autopilot)
• Develop, verify, and validate complex 6 degree of freedom vehicle models
• Model missile components such as inertial measurement units (IMU) and thrust vector control (TVC) systems
• Demonstrate proficiency in C++ and MATLAB and Object-Oriented design
• Perform pre-flight assessment and post-flight verification analyses
Basic Qualifications:
This requisition may be filled at either the Engineer level (T-02) or Principal Engineer level (T-03).
Required for Both Levels:

• Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
• Must have a current or ability to obtain and maintain a Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
Systems Engineer:

• Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of experience, 0 years of experience with a Master's degree. An additional 4 years of relevant experience can be considered in lieu of a degree
• Experience with developing software-based physics models and simulations of dynamic systems
• Experience with software version control systems, such as Git
• Working experience with MATLAB and/or Simulink
• Working knowledge of C++
Principal Systems Engineer:

• Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related experience; 3 years experience with a Master of Science degree; 1 year experience with a PhD. An additional 4 years of relevant experience can be considered in lieu of a degree
• Demonstrated experience in the area of guidance, navigation, or control algorithm development and/or analysis for launch vehicles, missiles, spacecraft, and/or aircraft
• Experience coding in a higher-level programming language (C, C++, MATLAB/Simulink, etc.)
• Experience with software version control systems, such as Git
• Ability to work in a highly collaborative & dynamic team-based environment
Preferred Qualifications:

• M.S. or equivalent advanced degree in applicable technical discipline
• Experience with a software version control system, such as Git
• Experience working in an Agile team or even leading a scrum team
• Extensive experience with MATLAB/Simulink
• Experience with Object-Oriented Programming
• Proficiency in technical writing and documentation
• Knowledge of estimation and control theory, such as Kalman filtering
• Experience with linear stability analysis to determine control system stability margins
• Experience modeling navigation sensors, such as IMU or GPS

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Salary Range: $77,200.00 - $115,800.00Salary Range 2: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
