Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Family Medicine Residency Program Director to lead our ACGME-accredited residency program. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the strategic, academic, and operational success of the program. The Program Director will oversee resident education, ensure accreditation compliance, and foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes excellence in training and patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Development & Oversight: Design, implement, and continuously evaluate a competency-based curriculum that meets ACGME and board certification requirements.
Resident Education & Mentorship: Provide direct teaching, supervision, mentorship, and formative feedback to support residents' professional development and well-being.
Accreditation & Compliance: Maintain compliance with ACGME requirements; manage documentation, reporting, and accreditation processes.
Recruitment & Operations: Lead resident recruitment and selection; oversee onboarding, scheduling, staffing, and program budget management.
Faculty Development: Recruit, mentor, and evaluate faculty; promote ongoing development in teaching, assessment, and scholarly work.
Resident Assessment & Support: Oversee evaluations, milestone tracking, and remediation plans as needed. Promote a culture of wellness, professionalism, and accountability.
Institutional & Community Engagement: Serve as a liaison to hospital leadership, affiliated academic institutions, and community partners. Represent the program locally and nationally.
Promote Scholarly Activity: Support and encourage academic research, quality improvement projects, and scholarly presentations by residents and faculty.
Required Qualifications
MD or DO with board certification in Family Medicine
At least 3 years of full-time experience in graduate accredited Family Medicine medical education or administrative role
Demonstrated leadership experience (e.g., Associate Program Director, Site Director, CCC or PEC Chair)
Comprehensive knowledge of ACGME standards and accreditation procedures
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
Proven leadership and management capabilities within a clinical education setting
Active involvement in scholarly activity (e.g., research, publications, presentations)
Strong mentorship skills with a commitment to faculty and resident development
Familiarity with budget oversight and operational planning
Ability to foster a collaborative, inclusive, and supportive educational environment.
