Career Opportunity Berkshire Meadows - Housatonic, MA June 2025 DIRECTOR OF RESIDENTIAL SERVICES Berkshire Meadows is a residential facility for children and adults with severe intellectual disabilities and complex medical needs. Berkshire Meadows, Housatonic, Massachusetts seeks a Residential Director who will be a critical part of the administrative team. Berkshire Meadows is a residential facility, group home, day habilitation and school for residents with complex medical, intellectual and developmental differences. The Residential Director will directly supervise a team of program managers and other related staff and will indirectly support the supervision of dozens of direct care staff. The Residential Director will be responsible for the residential care and treatment of the group homes, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and internal requirements and client engagement. Responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, orientation and training, supervision, staff work schedule, treatment planning, behavior management, therapeutic recreational programming, developing, improving, and maintaining a therapeutic community, and maintaining a safe, clean-living environment. The Director will be expected to provide supervision, support and training to program managers and to ensure compliance with such training. Extensive involvement with reporting, oversight of documentation and other regulatory compliance is expected. Requirements include a bachelor's degree in a related field, 2-5 yrs of residential supervisory experience or otherwise equivalent experience, excellent leadership and management skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary administrative and treatment teams. The Residential Director will work a varied schedule to assure that optimal services, programming, and supervision of the residential programs is occurring on all shifts, every day. The Residential Director will also need to ensure appropriate staffing coverage and may be needed to support a program more extensively in the event of staffing shortage, including providing on call availability as needed.
