Health and Safety Engineer Co-Op/Intern

Where will you work:

FishHawk site located in Lithia, FL with occasional travel to other Florida sites.

Housing and relocation can be provided for qualified candidates.

A Health and Safety Engineer Co-Op/Intern at Mosaic you will gain hands-on experience supporting critical safety initiatives across our Florida Mine sites. Full time Co-Op/Internship. Typically, 36-40 hours a week on site.

What will you do?

Day to day work assignments assigned by the supervisor and could include:

  • Use existing EHS data, including lagging and leading indicators, to identify trends and provide input into critical EHS strategic planning.

  • With support from a Senior EHS Technology and Data Analyst, design a technology solution for EHS data collection or analysis including PowerBI Dashboard and/ or PowerApp potentially with the use of AI tools.

  • Support EHS Operations Services to include Employee Observation, Contractor Safety, and Emergency Response Program across North American operations.

  • Attend department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment.

  • Adhering to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies

​What do you need for this role?

  • Sophomore level by January 2026 or higher pursuing a bachelor's degree in Chemical, Computer Science, Data Science, Environmental, Industrial Systems, Mechanical and/or, Process Engineering.

  • 2.75 GPA or higher

  • 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is preferred.

  • Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred.

  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.

  • Ability to work full time and be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship

  • Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete the following: Post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination.

  • Basic computer skills are required.

  • Experience working in a team environment is a must.

  • Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable.

  • Effective verbal communication skills is a plus.

  • Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments.
